More than 215,000 people face extreme food shortages in Bari, Nugaal, Sool, Sanaag and Karkaar regions of Somalia. With three failed rainy seasons in 2016, extreme drought has devastated harvests causing loss of livestock, increasing the food crisis daily, and decrease of income because pastoralist livestock sales still remain the major source of income. These communities have been neglected by regional, national, and international governments and aid organizations.

Taageero Campaign and ARAHA are working to uplift families in these communities by providing emergency food baskets. It costs $100 to feed a family of five for one month. Food basket includes: flour, rice, sugar, oil, flour and maize.

We created this Lifesaver campaign to uplift this issue and amplify the efforts of the diaspora community in Minnesota and beyond. We are partnering with ARAHA to administer this project.

Your vital gift to the families of Somalia helps provide emergency assistance as quickly as possible. Your help is urgently needed.

Thank you for your response and support at this crucial time.

Taageero is a Minnesota-based collaborative supported by a broad coalition of community leaders. Our aim is to co-create relief and sustainable development projects in Somalia with the help of the global Somali diaspora community.
