Overview:ARAHA is looking for a passionate and dynamic Community Engagement and Events Coordinator to join our dedicated team. This role is essential for enhancing our presence and impact within the community through the planning and execution of meaningful events and initiatives. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in fostering relationships within the community, coordinating volunteers, and creating events that resonate with our mission to provide humanitarian aid in the Horn of Africa.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize, and execute various events including community outreach programs, cultural festivals, and fundraising activities.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with community members, local businesses, and other organizations to support ARAHA’s events and initiatives.
  • Manage volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination, ensuring effective participation and a rewarding volunteer experience.
  • Oversee logistical aspects of events, including venue selection, vendor liaising, and on-site management.
  • Work closely with ARAHA’s marketing team to effectively promote events and enhance the organization’s visibility.
  • Engage the office environment with a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere for both staff and visitors.
  • Manage event budgets, track expenditures, and report on outcomes and community engagement.
  • Continuously assess community needs to align future events with ARAHA’s mission and objectives.
  • Additional duties as required, in alignment with ARAHA’s goals and mission.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in event planning, community engagement, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, capable of multitasking effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
  • Creative thinker, able to conceptualize and implement innovative event ideas.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, as required by event schedules.
  • Commitment to ARAHA’s mission and a passion for humanitarian work.
