Giving birth in flood

Giving birth in flood

Giving birth in itself is a difficult challenge, but going into labor in the middle of a flood is a whole another story. Khadija went into labor as the floods were surging around her.

With nowhere to go and surrounded by floods; she had no choice but to deliver the baby on the spot. Luckily she was safe and delivered a healthy baby. Our team located her 3 days later and provided immediate aid and support to her and her baby.

In the past few months, the Horn of Africa (Eastern Africa) region has been devasted by floods displacing over 250,000 people across the region and causing much damage to livestock and infrastructure.  Sudan has recently declared a state of emergency, and many of the countries in the region has suffered devastating human and economic loss.
