GivingTuesday for Shagarab

GivingTuesday for Shagarab

We are so thankful for our supporters, donors, and volunteers this Giving Tuesday. We could not support the projects we are working on without you! We appreciate your dedication and know that you share our goal of a sustainable, thriving Horn of Africa. With the ongoing crisis in Sudan, the biggest need we've identified is funding for the Shagarab Refugee Camp School. Many people have been forced to flee their homes all over the region and this refugee camp has seen a drastic increase in population over the last year. The children in this camp have faced war, famine, disease, and countless other struggles before they even have a chance to graduate high school. Young girls are often forced into marriage at an early age simply because there are no other options. Our goal is to provide an opportunity for education and a brighter future. ARAH A built the only school available to these children in the refugee camp and it is in dire need of updates, equipment and additional supplies. We currently have 539 students enrolled and there aren't even enough chairs for everyone to sit down. We have 25 teachers and 8 staff members that are sharing chalk pieces and other supplies and there just isn't enough to go around. This is why we're asking for your support. Help us provide better conditions for these children. Let's work together to ensure they have the best possible future and chance at success in life. A $25 donation can provide transportation, school supplies, and nutritious meals for one student for a whole month! Imagine the change you can inspire in a child's life. Giving Tuesday is the largest, global wide giving day of the year. Let's show the world what ARAHA can accomplish with generous donors like you!

Donate today on our website or set a reminder for Tuesday November 30th to donate on our Facebook page. Facebook has generously agreed to match donations at 8:00am Eastern Time, 7:00am Central. If you're an early bird you can double your gift.

Thank you so much!
