Community Center for Mabatini
Mabatini Village emerged from displacement during the 2007–2008 post-election violence and the 2000 tribal conflict. The community continues to face extreme poverty and lacks access to essential infrastructure and shared public spaces.
Mabatini Village currently lacks a proper, durable community space where residents can gather, learn, and access essential services. Existing structures are temporary, made of iron sheets and softboard, and are highly vulnerable to weather conditions, especially during rainy seasons. This limits opportunities for community engagement, education, meetings, and service delivery, while also compromising safety and dignity.
To construct a permanent, multi-purpose community center that provides a safe, inclusive, and weather-protected space for gatherings, education, and community development activities.
- Access to a safe and weather-protected community space
- Increased opportunities for education, training, and community programs
- Strengthened community cohesion and collaboration
- Improved delivery of social and development services
