A large percentage of families in the Horn region lack electricity, making do with candle light at night, wood fires for cooking, and relying on the expansion of polluting fuels like coal and gas for energy. To counteract the issues they face and prevent further contributions to climate change, ARAHA is striving to provide small-scale solutions for families in the Horn. We’ve distributed solar lights, taught local cooks how to use solar stoves rather than fire to feed their families, and more. When a crisis strikes in the Horn of Africa, ARAHA mobilizes quickly to give families the support they need to come out strong after such times of upheaval.
