Volunteer Coordinator

Description
The Volunteer Coordinator will be charged with the management of ARAHA’s volunteers, with the main
responsibilities being volunteer recruitment, training, and organizing, as well as handling the general logistics of volunteer teams.

This is a paid part-time position.

    Responsibilities
    Review and make necessary changes to current volunteer policy and application in coordination
    with Executive Director

  • Research and implement best practices for volunteer management
  • Work closely with HQ staff to identify ARAHA’s need for volunteerism
  • Create guidelines for staff and volunteer relations
    Recruit volunteers

  • – Identify the best volunteer candidates
  • – Maintain a volunteer pool
  • – Train volunteers for tasks as needed
    Organize general logistics

  • Communicate with volunteers about upcoming tasks or events
  • Keep track of volunteer efforts, hours, and concerns
  • Take charge of volunteer assignments in the absence of volunteers
  • Assist with fundraising activities
    Requirements

  • Degree in communications, management, or other relevant field
  • Minimum of one year experience in volunteer management/human resources
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people
  • Ability to lead and motivate volunteers and groups
  • Ability to delegate assignments based on volunteer skills, time availability, and interests
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as Google Drive
  • Photography and social media skills
  • Excellent written and oral skills
