Weekly Updates

Asalaamu Aleykum warahmatulahiii wabarakatu!

Missed updating you all, and we have SO much to share! First off, remember that trip I told you guys about to the Horn of Africa? Yeah, so… they left without us.

Our Executive Director is currently in the Horn of Africa, and some of you, our donors, joined the trip to see the work firsthand.

They began in Kenya and are heading to Sudan next.

They’re visiting families, schools, and meeting with local teams. They’re seeing the impact up close – what’s working, what’s needed, and where we go next.

We’re following along through photos and updates.

Next year we should go!

Ramadan Prep Is Already Happening

Ramadan is approaching quickly.

And while it may feel early, families are already waiting.

We’re preparing food baskets, organizing iftar distributions, confirming numbers, and coordinating with teams on the ground.

Ramadan always moves fast. If you’re thinking about your giving this year, preparations are already underway.

Ramadan Food Baskets & Iftar

Last year, thousands of families were able to break their fast with food on the table because of your support.

We’re working to do the same again.

These are simple, essential items – rice, flour, oil, dates – the basics that carry families through the month.

In addition, daily iftar meals will support those who have no reliable access to food.

Families Returning Home (Kassala to  Khartoum)

For the first time since the war, hundreds of displaced families have begun returning home.

After months away, returning is not simple.

ARAHA supported transportation and provided food assistance so families did not have to walk back or arrive with nothing.

How people return matters. Dignity matters.

Your support made that possible.

School Lunch Program

The school lunch program continues.

Students are receiving daily meals. Teachers are reporting improved attendance and better classroom focus.

For many students, this meal is their most consistent source of nutrition.

Sometimes impact is practical and straightforward — and still deeply meaningful.

Al-Shajarab High School League

The General League at Al-Shajarab High School has officially begun.

The energy is high. Students are engaged. Schools feel active and alive.

After prolonged instability, seeing students gather for sports, teamwork, and healthy competition is a strong sign of recovery.
